More fun in the sun in Barcelona

So today is day two in Barcelona and Stuart and I went to see a few more things. Yesterday (after having arrvied at 3:30am the night before) we got a late start and only had a taste of the city. We went down to the water though (Mediterranean), had some sangria down by the marina and then went out to an authentic tapas bar. It was DELISH! :-)

For those of you that have no clue what I'm talking about (I didn't either until last night!), it's basically a series of appetizers that are combined to make up a full meal. I was very brave and tried several things I've never had before. Then we finished off the meal with some delicious dessert and coffee. Mmmmmmm!
Today we went down Las Ramblas the famous street through the heart of the city and did some sightseeing. We saw the famous Christopher Columbus statue of him "pointing to America" (I waved to everyone back home) and actually took a ride to the top of it for a fantastic view of the city. Then we walked around the marina, got some ice cream and sat by the Mediterranean, dangling our feet off the pier. I even managed to take a picture by the water this time and not toss Stuart's nice camera into the water like last time - HA! After that we pretty much just wandered around and looked at the beautiful sights. Here are some of the pics from yesterday and today...
Barcelona is a BEAUTIFUL city, just a bit dirty we've decided....HA! I've been wearing my Reef flip flops when we go into the city and by the time we get back home, the bottoms of my feet are BLACK! Bleh...I bought some postcards today so I'll be sending them out tomorrow. Hope everyone is well! :-)

You know, they have "Tapas" over here in America too. In Arkansas they "pull something off of the grill (usually from the grill of a pickup truck)" and cook it up as an "appetiser". Summertime, usually yields the better harvest, as the sumptuous dragonflys are more prevalant that time of the year.
Hope you two are having fun!
There is a great little restaurant in the square where you took that last picture. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of it, just that everyone starts lining up to get in when it opens.
I wish I was there instead of heading off to another day at work...
Really amazing! Useful information. All the best.
